JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client, a dynamic international company offering good working conditions is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join its team.
• Design secured network topologies for both test and production environments;
• Install and configuring all of the following infrastructure network elements - firewalls, IP load balancers, routers, switches and SAN, along with servers running on Centos;
• Ensure proper monitoring setup of all servers and network components;
• Perform system audit checks to ensure reliability and security;
• Proactively check and monitor system and error logs;
• Create monthly infrastructure elements performance stats;
• Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration;
• Manage patches and releases into production (including rollbacks, etc.);
• Keep abreast of new technologies, industry trends and changes;
• Produce bill of materials for the purchase of test and production infrastructure;
• Maintain software licenses;
• Write and Maintain System documentation , ensuring accuracy of all documentation and diagrams;
• Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security;
• Be available for on-call roster;
• Work with manager and validation team on defect prioritization and resolution;
• Report to manager on progress and areas of technical responsibility.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor degree in IT or similar
• 5+ years related working experience in Systems Administration functions (Linux, apache ….);
• 5+ years networking experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, LDAP, Radius);
• Experience with the virtualisation technologies: VMWare ESX/ESXi;
• Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc…);
• Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE, etc...);
• Working experience with Juniper Netscreen Firewalls (VPN) (an asset), Cisco switches, routers, F5 load balancers and HP EVA SAN;
• Windows 2003 and 2008 Server;
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills;
• Experience working with remote data centres including systems architecture, remote installations, application upgrades, maintenance, and run-book configuration;
• Good written & verbal skill-sets; good problem solving skills; customer service oriented, multi-tasking capabilities;
• Ability to work extremely well with people, under minimal supervision, with a very positive attitude, while multi-tasking & under pressure;
• Fluent in English, French is a nice to have.

o Active Directory
o Windows DNS
o Squid
o MySQL
o Nagios
o Syslog
o CFengine / Puppet
o Java Application Servers (Jetty / Tomcat/ Felix OSGi)
o Code management (Perforce / Git / SVN)
