Cofomo is currently looking for a Windows Administator to achieve a mandate with one of its clients in Montreal.

The responsibilities are:

• Optimize Windows servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. This includes designing, installing, configuring, administering, and fine-tuning Windows operating systems and components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner;
• Responsible for the following duties while carrying out the support of the corporation’s entire national Windows server farm;
• Install, configure, Windows servers, software, and any other corresponding equipment and software (IIS, AD, Terminal Server, etc.);
• Perform file systems and basic database configuration and management;
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including end-user desktop PCs (when complex issues arise);
• Monitor and test system performance, as well as provide statistics and reports on demand;
• Recommend and execute modifications to Windows systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance;
• Review and deploy new Windows service packs, hot fixes, system updates, and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices;
• Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Windows system security;
• Create and maintain Access Control Lists (object permission), Active Directory (object), and AD maintained Policies (GPO);
• Coordinate with network admin, business applications, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of Windows systems to meet corporate objectives;
• Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles;
• Participate in the design and review of new Windows systems and applications deployments in both workstations and servers;
• Provide help to other team members when required;
• Conduct analysis and planning activities;
• Develop and maintain Windows training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new IT staff;
• Define and implement strategies for integrating Windows and non-Windows environments;
• Ensure that Windows-based workstations and servers comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines;
• Conduct research on Windows-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts;
• Assist in performing network design and capacity planning;
• Responsible for all activities related to Windows and VMware architecture;
• Backfill operational staff on daily maintenance and troubleshoot activities as the need arises;
• Implement solutions (build servers, deploy applications, configure equipment) in accordance with solution architecture;
• Review and provide input to Technical Architecture documents;
• Produce operational documentation (i.e., Run Book / Build Book, etc.);
• Execute implementation and test plans;
• Assist various Ops teams as requested;
• Responsible for the installation, setup, configuration and support of Windows server(s), Exchange 2010, 2016, Office 365, SharePoint, SSRS, SCOM, SCCM, VMware vSphere 5/6, Active Directory, SQL, etc.;
• Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system;
• Monitor and tune the systems to achieve optimum level of performance and stability.

The required skills and competencies are:

• Over ten (10) years of experience for this type of resource;
• Excellence in deployment and maintenance of Active Directory 2008, Windows 2008, 2012, VMware vSphere;
• Real world experience with Office 365;
• Real world experience with Azure;
• Real world experience with Microsoft server products such as Exchange 2016, SharePoint 2010, SCOM, SCCM, SQL (SSRS SSIS);
• Real world experience with SUN, IBM, Dell servers, Cisco MDS, backup equipment VTL/ATL and backup software;
• Strong networking background (TCP/IP, VoIP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls Rules troubleshooting);
• Occasionally available nights, evenings, and weekends;
• Experience in the following environments: VMware 5 or greater, Windows Server 2003, 2003, 2008, 2012, Active Directory 2008, Exchange 2010 to 2016, Office 365, Lotus Notes & Domino 6/7/8, IIS 6, 7 & 8;
• Experience with SharePoint 2010, SCOM, SCCM, Backup (NetBackup 7.x), SAN Nimble Storage.
